Provenance
This Easton S19 composite stick was used by Patrick Hornqvist during the 2014–2015 NHL
season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, his first campaign with the team following a trade
from Nashville. It was purchased via eBay in 2016 and authenticated based on game-use
wear patterns and model consistency with Hornqvist’s documented equipment
specifications from that period.
The 2014–15 season marked Hornqvist’s transition into Pittsburgh’s high-tempo offensive
system, where he immediately became a net-front presence alongside Sidney Crosby and
Evgeni Malkin. This stick, part of Easton’s S19 elite line, reflects his preference for a quick-
release mid-flex shaft ideal for close-range shooting and deflections.
Description and Significance
The Easton S19 was among the final iterations of Easton’s top-tier composite sticks before
the brand’s exit from the hockey market. It features a one-piece tapered design for
improved energy transfer and precision shot control.
Hornqvist’s stick shows moderate gameplay wear, including puck scuffing on the blade
face and compression marks along the lower shaft. This stick represents both Hornqvist’s
stylistic fit with the Penguins’ offensive philosophy and the broader evolution of NHL stick
technology during the mid-2010s composite era.
